Cart closes in:

Your performance* is only as good as the way you practice.

After all, performing with poise under pressure requires:

  • Rock-solid technique
  • A beautifully resonant and in-tune tone
  • Give-me-goosebumps musicianship
  • Confidence in your preparation

If you’re not going into your practice sessions knowing how to conquer passages that make your brain say, “I’ve got this!” when the spotlight’s on you, how to mentally prepare for performances, and how to craft a compelling musical narrative…

you’re letting your true potential sit tucked away in your practice room.

practice makes permanent

*recital, audition, concert, etc. You get the idea.

You need practice strategies that work for you, not against you.

Paragraph

let's change that:

When your body’s fight-or-flight response kicks in during a performance, it will default to whatever you practiced. And if that’s the same error over and over again…well, you guessed it—that’s what will come out in a performance.

If you really want to get more done in less time, you need a methodical approach for everything: technique, interpretation, mindfulness. Don’t mistake that for mechanical because it actually makes you a more versatile musician.

You are your whole self when you walk on stage. You need the tools to calm those performance jitters—because everyone has them. But, you also need the skills to monitor your body on-the-fly so you can quiet any tension and prevent injuries.

Your job as a musician is to express not impress. The composer put every note on the page for a reason. You need to bring those notes to life and create a compelling musical dialogue so you can tell the composer’s story with absolute artistry.

You need:

Science-backed practice strategies that ensure continuous improvement and artistic growth.

Techniques for creating a solid foundation in challenging passages—I call this my PS Framework.

A method for speaking the language of music & finding the structure of each phrase so you can tell a story through sound.

A mindful approach so you can calm those pre-performance butterflies and perform confidently.

What if you could learn even the most difficult repertoire efficiently and effectively?

If you’re ready to put in the intelligent work, it’s possible.

It's time to transform your playing.

GET YOUR PENCIL, METRONOME, AND TUNER READY.

You’re 5x more likely to make a mistake when playing at tempo if you only practice slowly and up the tempo by 2 clicks.

BUT HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW…

The secret to unlocking your full potential lies in practicing smarter, not harder—whether it's conquering tricky passages or delivering a performance that emotionally connects with your audience.

(Yup, your brain maps different execution plans for fast vs. slow playing.)

Plus, musicians who use intentional, goal-focused methods improve 400% faster than those stuck in an infinite repeat loop.

And adding mindfulness to the mix can reduce performance anxiety by up to 30%

^^Heck, yes! Who doesn’t want to feel less nervous on stage?

You need an integrated approach to practicing.

That's why I created my signature 3-part framework:

Effective practice strategies

Architecture for interpretation

Mindfulness tactics

…that help you shave time in the practice room, allow you to approach problem spots from multiple angles, and give you a rock-solid foundation so you feel confident and can perform with ease.

…that teaches you the unwritten rules of music so no matter what style you’re playing—whether it’s Bach or Bartok—you can orchestrate compelling musical phrases that connect with the listener.

…to prevent performance injuries—because playing shouldn’t be painful— and help you quiet your body’s fight-or-flight response when your performance anxiety kicks in so you can trust yourself onstage.

Agile practice strategies based on research & data analytics

storytelling method for creating a musical dialogue

mindfulness techniques to ease nerves and reduce risk of injury

the interconnected musician

you!

I DEVELOPED THIS FRAMEWORK OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS AS I DEALT WITH COMPLICATIONS FROM RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, CRIPPLING PERFORMANCE ANXIETY IN GRAD SCHOOL, AND REDUCED PRACTICE TIME AFTER BECOMING A MOM.

I share this method with my students…

And now I want to share it with you.

A holistic, methodical, and intellectual system.

You are your own teacher.

Because here's the thing...

Even if you take lessons, you only see your teacher for 1 hour of the week. That leaves 167 hours where you’re on your own.

And if you’re like most musicians, practicing can feel:
  • Frustrating
  • Overwhelming
  • Lonely
  • Confusing

let's change that

You know what you need to practice, but when you actually start practicing, you don’t know HOW to practice—so you keep using the same ‘ol methods without getting better results.

Your heart races, knees tremble, and your lips & fingers take on a mind of their own when you perform. You wish you could trust your abilities. Why does it always sound better in the practice room?

You're unsure how to truly interpret and express the music on the page. You feel like you’re showing emotion in your playing, but when you listen to a recording it sounds flat.

NO MORE “IT SOUNDED BETTER IN THE PRACTICE ROOM.”

You deserve to have a musical toolkit that allows you to thrive.

If you've been stuck feeling like...

You know you want to get better as a musician, but you’re overwhelmed…and that means learning new repertoire feels like a chore when it should be fun.

This is where I waltz in. Flute in hand—and probably wearing high heels—ready to help you perform with confidence and ease.

MEET THE PRACTICE CODE CIRRICULUM

Course breakdown:

Laying the Foundation

Your job as a musician is to express, not impress. And that’s precisely why we’re starting with phrase structure—because technique and interpretation go hand-in-hand. In this module, we’re taking a deep dive into understanding the building blocks of melodic phrases and how to decode the syntax that gives a work its unique voice.

And because we’re not in 1850, I’ll show you how these phrasing concepts apply to music from Bach to Bartok and music by living composers.

First up, you’ll master phrase structure by learning how to identify a phrase, how they’re constructed, and the different types used by composers so you can start to see phrase patterns in your music.

Understand my unique view of phrasing—did you know there are 2 main types of melodic building blocks commonly used in phrasing? You’ll learn how they work together. But I won’t leave you hanging because you’ll receive repertoire examples of these phrases in action.

module two

Building a Musical Architecture

Ever wonder what lies beneath a beautifully crafted phrase? This module takes you on a deep dive into the architecture of music, from uncovering the skeletal structure of melodies to mastering the art of phrasing on both micro and macro levels.

Understand the importance of metric hierarchy across different time signatures, and how it helps solidify the skeleton and prevents you from bringing out the wrong notes. Because you don’t want to put the emPHAsis on the wrong syllable.

Learn how to uncover the fundamental notes that form the backbone of any phrase, guided by key music theory principles, so you know which notes are important and why.

Discover how the Cathedral Framework helps you identify sequences and nested phrases so that you can build your phrasing from the ground up.

Explore the nuances of phrasing at every level via micro and macro phrasing—from a single beat to an entire phrase unit—using dynamics, color, vibrato, and rubato to craft an expressive and cohesive interpretation.

Mastering Slow Practice

Slow practice isn't just about slowing down the metronome—it’s your chance to perfect every nuance. In this module, you’ll learn how to use slow practice as a powerful tool for building technique, tone, and precision. By mastering the art of playing with intention at a slower pace, you’ll unlock speed and accuracy when it really counts.

Perfect finger-tongue coordination and eliminate extraneous movements before they become a problem at full speed.

Dial up your musicality by learning to shape your phrases with intention, even at a slow pace. You’ll learn my signature method for shaping phrases, building on the foundation of the first two modules.

Discover how different articulations help you build better breath control along with a rich and resonant tone—because if it doesn’t sound beautiful under tempo, odds are it will sound even worse at tempo.

module FOUR

Mastering Fast Practice

It’s time to dive into the art of fast practice—just because you can play it slow, doesn’t mean you can play it fast. Unlock the brain’s secret to executing fast passages with precision and ease, ensuring you’re prepared to perform at tempo without overwhelm. From breaking down tricky spots to rebuilding them for speed, you’ll end this module with a toolkit of strategies for fast, flawless playing. I won’t lie, this module alone could be an individual course.

Build your pratice toolkit using various methods designed to help you master fast passages note by note, phrase by phrase with versatility and accuracy.

First, you’ll learn why fast practice is crucial to helping your brain create the right execution plan for playing at higher tempi. Your body requires different coordination for running versus walking—the same thing applies to playing slow vs. playing fast.

Then, we’ll take a deep dive into how you can break down complex passages into manageable segments for smoother execution using microphrasing and my Waypoint Method.

Discover how my signature Permuatation Sequence Framework helps you combine all the different fast-practice methods to give you even more stability so you never doubt the next note.

The Art of Musical Storytelling

Discover the secret to transforming the notes on the page into a musical dialogue that captivates your audience. From creating characters in your phrasing to using articulation like a master storyteller, you’ll learn how to craft a performance filled with emotion.

Explore the importance of tone colors, when to use certain tone colors & why, and how various colors add depth to your phrasing and engage listeners.

Master musical prosody by applying common expressions and words to your playing so you understand the syntax of each phrase.

Create a narrative arc in your music by using articulations, tone colors, and sequences that build toward expressive peaks by implementing the Cathedral Framework from Module 2.

Learn how to create a natural-sounding vibrato that enhances the musical narrative—because vibrato isn’t something that’s always on at the same speed and amplitude.

module six

Mindfulness

What good is having beautiful musicianship and impeccable technique if you can’t play with unshakeable confidence? By blending techniques from the Alexander Technique with mindful practice and sports psychology, you'll learn how to cultivate body awareness, reduce tension, and mentally prepare for success—whether it’s a performance or an audition.

Increase your body awareness and understand how tension shows up in your body—whether it's your fingers or toes—and develop strategies to release it for effortless playing.

Discover how to implement the elements of the Alexander Technique into your practice and performing for improved body awareness. Learn how to avoid shortcuts that compromise your playing, and train your body to release tension for effortless execution.

Master mindful, peaceful practice and break the cycle of painful, rushed practice sessions. See why progress doesn’t require endless hours, but a thoughtful, structured approach that gives your brain space to process.

Sports psychology isn’t just for athletes. Get my go-to visualization and mental rehearsal techniques from the sports world to mentally map out your audition or performance for success.

Putting It All Together

Here’s where your practice transforms from random reps & whatever’s on your stand into a well-oiled machine. By integrating the Practice Life Cycle Roadmap, you’ll learn to analyze, design, and execute your practice sessions like a pro—leading to polished performances with ease.

Discover how simulating performances can help you pinpoint strengths and weaknesses so you can be prepared for your next audition or performance.

You’ll learn how to analyze your score like a roadmap—identify phrase units, climaxes, and tone colors, and know exactly what to work on.

Craft targeted practice plans, implementing the right technical exercises and phrasing techniques to address problem areas with precision.

HOW IT WORKS:

when...

You might be thinking...

Can’t I just enroll in private lessons and learn all this?

Maybe *shrugs shoulders*

You could also take summer seminars and masterclasses and work with a performance psychology coach.

But the cost of all that easily adds up to $15,000+ over YEARS—maybe even decades—of training.

And there’s no guarantee that your private teacher or the fancy top-tier flute instructor you work with at a summer workshop will provide you with the same comprehensive curriculum.

Imagine spending hundreds on masterclasses or seminars, only to walk away with temporary insights that fade without ongoing support.

What if you could invest in a program that offers lasting transformation instead—for a fraction of the price?

my journey has been anything but typical

I didn’t start private lessons until college, faced near-career-ending complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, and spent a decade working as a software developer in the pulp and paper industry before going to grad school for music performance.

Along the way, I battled crippling performance anxiety and imposter syndrome, convinced that endless hours in the practice room would be my salvation. Spoiler alert: they weren’t.

My unique approach combines storytelling through music, smart practice strategies, and techniques from my tech background to empower musicians.

Now, I’ve made it my mission to help musicians avoid those same pitfalls.

The result? My students perform with confidence, overcome the toughest passages, and genuinely enjoy sharing their music with others.

Imagine walking on stage feeling prepared in every possible way—not just technically, but mentally and emotionally.

That’s what my system is all about. I believe that true poise under pressure comes from within; it’s not just about how fast you can play but about embracing who you are as a musician and a person.

So, if you’re ready to transform your practice routine, conquer performance nerves, and bring your music to life in a way that feels authentic and powerful, you’re in the right place.

Let's get started!

The Practice Code for Musicians is for you if:

You’re ready to replace tired, ineffective routines with proven strategies.

You’re looking for a system that transforms your pre-show jitters into energy allowing you to step on stage with confidence.

You want a structure that will amplify your creativity and deepen your understanding of your repertoire.

The practice code for musicians is probably not for you if...

You want practice hacks that will get you overnight success instead of investing in consistent effort.

You’re skeptical about combining data analytics to your practicing and discovering a deeper way to learn.

You’re not interested in improving your practice efficiency & performance quality and are okay with occasional nerves & technical struggles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have Questions? No problem, here’s what others have asked. Question not on here? Feel free to email me at hello@sarahweisbrod.com.

Even the best musicians constantly refine their craft and look for ways to improve. TPC incorporates science-backed effective practice strategies designed to help you learn your repertoire more efficiently and with a firm foundation.

Because you are your instrument and everything is interconnected, the course also incorporates aspects of interpretation passed down to me through the teachings of French flutist Marcel Moyse. And, because you must consistently perform at your best, the course incorporates aspects of mindfulness and the Alexander Technique.

01

Yes, it is a big investment. And Sure, YouTube offers plenty of free content, but there's a huge difference between piecemeal learning and a structured, results-driven program like TPC.

With free content, you’re often getting a watered-down version of the material, which means you have to sift through hundreds of videos. But, with a program, you get a clear roadmap designed to address your exact pain points—faster practice, fearless performance, and storytelling through music.

When you learn on your own, you don’t have anyone to bounce questions off of. But, TPC offers in-depth instruction based on my personal experience as a professional flutist and educator, helping you avoid common mistakes and wasted time.

Finally, studies show that paid programs foster a higher level of commitment. You’re not just casually browsing; you’re investing in your growth.

02

This course is designed to let you go at your own pace. And since you have lifetime access to the material and its upgrades, you can always revisit modules when you need to. But, let me ask you, do you have the time to NOT do this? If you want to keep scrolling TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram looking for the best “practice hacks” or tricks to reduce performance anxiety, then by all means, keep doing what you’re doing.

But, what if you could reduce your practice time by 1 hour a day? That’s a minimum of 7 hours you get back each week to do something else. And because I know you’re busy, each lesson is concise and easily digestible.

I recommend setting aside 1 hour a week to go through the material—2 hours if you want to be on the live calls. But don’t worry, you’re supported through the group if you can’t make the calls.

03

Absolutely! Although my expertise is in playing the flute, the methods taught in this program work for classical musicians, whether they’re vocalists or trombonists.

04

Yes. Obviously every genre and style has its own nuances, but the methods taught in TPC work for all classical music from Bach to Bartok and beyond.

05

What kind of support do you offer?

Of course! This program is designed for musicians of all levels who are serious about elevating their performance, not just professionals.

Whether you're performing for fun or aiming to level up your skills, the methods in this course meet you where you are and grow with you. You don’t need to be a pro to benefit from smart, efficient practice strategies.

Musicians, even professionals, often struggle with time-wasting practice habits. This program fast-tracks your progress, giving you effective techniques without all the guesswork.

Whether you're playing for an audience of one or a full concert hall, this course equips you with the mental and technical tools to perform with poise, tell a compelling story through your music, and actually enjoy the experience.

If you’re passionate about improving and want a clear, proven path to becoming the best musician you can be, this program is a perfect fit—regardless of whether you're a professional or not.

06

Absolutely! Everything you learn in this course will supplement what you’re learning in lessons.

07

To best serve my students, this course is only available during the live launch season.

In the future, I may evergreen this course so that musicians can purchase it whenever they want, but that capability isn’t built into the course, yet.

08

Luck you! You get lifetime access to the course, its materials, and any updates for as long as the course remains in existence. That means you can go at your own pace and revisit material whenever you’d like.

09

I understand that problems come up. Just shoot me an email at hello@sarahweisbrod.com and I’ll be happy to troubleshoot your issue.
